When you get stressed or get panicked about anything, the body’s abilities to cope reduces. It causes your body to produce greater levels of stress hormones called ‘Cortisol’ to boost immunity and reduce inflammation. Greater levels of cortisol in the blood opens the door for more inflammation. During stress, the body’s lymphocytes (type of WBC) which help to fight the infection gets reduced. The lower the lymphocyte level, the more risk you are for the viruses. High stress levels can also cause depression and anxiety, again leading to higher levels of inflammation. In the long-term, sustained, high levels of inflammation point to an overworked, over-tired immune system can’t properly protect the body.

- Aroma therapy: Eucalyptus/Peppermint/ Thyme oil for body massage. 10 drops in 20 ml of Gingely oil. For sniffing use 1-2 drops of eucalyptus oil can act as an anti-infective in the nasal passage.
- Helio therapy: Exposure to Sun for at least 15 minutes in the morning and evening may confer protection against other illness like asthma and infectious disease. Increased Vitamin D induces cathelicidin-a polypeptide that effectively combats both bacterial and viral diseases.
